Today’s Calendar

9:00 AM — Build-a-Bot Health Coach Discussion CANCELLED

With: Marily Oppezzo, Michele Patel, Priya Talreja Reason: Marily had to take her dog to the ER. Both Marily and Michele want to reschedule to next week. Michele will send times today. Action: Reply with availability for next week (Tue-Thu, 10am-3pm). This frees up 9-10am for prep.

10:00 AM — Josh 1:1

With: Josh Weiss (Director, Accelerator Studio) Zoom: https://stanford.zoom.us/j/94194351840?pwd=YkxaQ3JaL3h4d3lVbTluK1plYjByZz09 Duration: 45 minutes

Context: Big agenda — ISTE debrief is the centerpiece. Josh was in the meeting and will want to discuss next steps. Capacity building model, SMART goals, and “5 questions” exercise were all due today but none are done.

Strategy: Lead with ISTE debrief (your strongest material). Josh shared an “ISTE <> Stanford” Google Doc after the meeting yesterday — review this before the 1:1. Be transparent about model doc/SMART goals timing.

Talking points:

  • ISTE debrief: review Josh’s shared doc, authorized provider model, train-the-trainer (Josh prefers SAL direct involvement), Tinkery CoP role, managing overlap with other Stanford AI PD
  • MyBook/Wen update — Firebase rules fixed, data collection prototype in progress
  • End-of-month debrief (from Tuesday)
  • Capacity building model / SMART goals — need to push these or do a verbal first pass
  • Tequity + CRISPRkit — Alex Choi reached out, Josh replied. Verify next steps.

11:15 AM — Chat with Josh + Christine Bywater re: PLEX

With: Josh Weiss, Christine Bywater (Associate Director, CSET → PLEX?) Location: Raikes 205C (you’re remote via Zoom) Duration: 30 minutes

Context: Christine is spearheading a new PLEX (Professional Learning EXtension) initiative. CSET may be rebranding to PLEX. Meeting is to figure out how Josh and Reuben fit into their plans.

Questions to ask:

  • Is CSET officially becoming PLEX, or is PLEX a new program within CSET?
  • What’s the scope of PLEX? (K-12? Higher ed? Both?)
  • Where do Flash Lab and Build-a-Bot fit in their vision?
  • How does this relate to the ISTE partnership discussion? (ISTE strategy doc mentions managing overlap with other Stanford AI PD units — this is exactly that)

Note: This is strategically important. If PLEX becomes Stanford’s PL arm, the Accelerator Studio needs to understand how its offerings (Flash Lab, Build-a-Bot) relate — are they part of PLEX, parallel to it, or feeding into it?

1:00 PM — Tinkery Toolkit with Gregory Wilson II

With: Gregory Wilson II, Josh Weiss Zoom: https://stanford.zoom.us/j/99733519496?pwd=Hw2MjvwVIJ7WBeaxd8WQ4owwg6FyuP.1 Duration: 30 minutes

Context: Follow-up on AI Tinkery document. Gregory replied to Flash Lab + Tinkery Toolkit threads this week. Discussion about integrating Build-a-Bot and Flash Lab into a shared “Tinkery Toolkit” resource. This is a Goal 3 thread (scalable educator capacity programs).
