Meeting Prep Notes
AS:DE End-of-Month Meeting (Tue Feb 24, 11am)
- Format: Activity review, trends popping up, stories emerging, what should we change
- Bring:
- Legal 101 Workshop — delivered Feb 18, cross-cohort attendance (3 programs), follow-up survey results
- Seed grant lifecycle framework — SPARK → BUILD → SHARPEN → SCALE, the “we’ve been building a curriculum without naming it” narrative
- Three C’s strategic proposal — visualization + proposed offerings
- Market research on comparable orgs (9 organizations) — key patterns
- CRAFT meeting engagement — protein synthesis lab, Shane’s bot
- Independent facilitators running without us: Courtney (TCEA), Anna-Lena (Paris), Cathy (oncology)
- Stories for Airtable: Legal 101, lifecycle framework, Cathy’s oncology training, Victor using mystery box materials
Stanford <> ISTE+ASCD (Wed Feb 25, 1pm)
- With: Jessica Garner (ISTE), Joseph South (ISTE), Isabelle Hau (SAL ED), Josh Weiss, Reuben
- Prep doc:
prep/2026-02-19-iste-strategy.md - Our position: Train 3 ISTE faculty (Winston, Beth, Jeremiah) to facilitate Flash Lab independently
- Key context from Feb 17 strategy session:
- Non-exclusive with ISTE
- Flash Lab as top-of-funnel for GSE programs
- Respect PLEX’s institutional role
- Numbers for new dean: users, reach, revenue, studies
- Key context from Feb 19 Josh 1:1:
- ISTE = test bed for capacity building model
- “Playbook, reach, revenue” framework
- Active experimentation — learn from how format travels
- Market research context: PBLWorks National Faculty model is closest comparable. ISTE’s own AI PD is course-based — space for experiential formats like Flash Lab.
- Questions to clarify:
- What does “grant funded” mean?
- Internal ISTE people (Winston, Beth, Jeremiah)?
- Where does Joseph stand on legal/contracts?
- Update on 2-hour forum slots?
