Back to Digests Week of June 28 - July 4, 2026

Week of June 28 - July 4, 2026

ISTELive Orlando week — and the whole week is OOO. You fly SAN→MCO today (Sun Jun 28), the conference runs Mon–Wed, the marquee is the AI Flash Lab session Wed Jul 1, then Thu–Fri are PTO (KSC + Florida) and you fly home Fri night (MCO→SAN, arrives 8:55pm PT). Independence Day observed Fri Jul 3 (federal holiday); July 4 Saturday. Back in the saddle ~Mon Jul 6. The only work touchpoints are the Wed session and a remote AS:DE on Tue — everything else is deliberately parked until you’re back.

Weekly Focus

From Q2/Q3 goals and the OOO/ISTE context

  • Deliver the ISTE AI Flash Lab session well (Wed Jul 1). This is the Goal-3 showcase moment the whole spring pointed at — formats traveling on a national stage with Josh. Table-card scaffold is built (prep/2026-06-18-iste-flashlab-table-card.md); the job this week is execution, not prep.
  • Work the room while you’re at ISTE. Joseph South (ISTE CEO, 33 days cooling) and Jessica Garner/Nadia Selim (ISTE partnership leads) are all on-site — this is the face-to-face that moves the licensing/TTT conversation further than any email. Capture names + quotes for Airtable.
  • Actually take the PTO. Thu (Kennedy Space Center) and Fri (Florida) are personal days you booked on purpose. Don’t let post-conference momentum eat them.
  • Nothing else is due this week. GPS forward goals, Latvia MOU, monthly Airtable, strategic horizon — all consciously parked until ~Jul 6. This is a coast-and-deliver week, not a catch-up week.

Daily Log

Sunday, June 28

  • Travel day → Orlando. SW 4162 SAN→MCO, departs 8:40am PT, arrives 4:45pm ET (conf ARKR63). Check in at Westgate Lakes Resort (3 nights). OOO begins for real.

Wednesday, July 1

  • ISTE AI Flash Lab session ⭐ (Reuben + Josh), AI Pavilion / OCCC. The marquee. (Calendar shows 12pm ET / 9am PT; the ISTE program / prior planning says 9–10:30am ET — confirm the actual slot on arrival, the event time looks stale.) Check out of Westgate; move to Holiday Inn Intl Dr.

Friday, July 3

  • PTO — Florida, then fly home: SW 2696 MCO→SAN, departs 6:50pm ET, arrives 8:55pm PT. Independence Day (observed) — federal holiday.

This Week’s Calendar

Stanford work calendar + real external commitments. Personal-calendar items (River, birthdays, the personal-calendar copies of flights/hotels) intentionally omitted. Travel + PTO surfaced because they’re the week’s whole shape.

Mon ISTE Orlando — Day 1 Conference. No Stanford meetings.

  • Add Quoted Impact entries to Airtable (sofIA, Dan/Josh Q2, DCI thank-yous, ISTE moments to capture this week)
  • Workshops Google Sheet sync (Fizzy #119) — SMCOE + DCI rows still not pushed to the shared Sheet

Waiting On Others

  • Josh: Latvia MOU routing (Karin/Isabelle), Darcy one-pager feedback

  • Date the four undated headings in running-notes.md so the ETL parser stops dropping them

Week’s Accomplishments

Cumulative list, updated as the week progresses

  • Deliver ISTE AI Flash Lab session (Wed Jul 1)

Decisions Made

(Updated as the week progresses)

Cooling Connections

Auto-surfaced from etl_cooling at 21-day threshold. OOO week — most aren’t actionable until ~Jul 6; flagged for re-entry.

On-site this week (act in person, not by email):

  • Joseph South — 33 days. ISTE CEO; he’s at ISTELive. Best possible re-engagement is a hallway conversation this week. [BRIDGE-BUILD]
  • (Jessica Garner / Nadia Selim — ISTE partnership leads, on-site; not in the cooling list but the same opportunity applies.)

Re-engage on return (~Jul 6):

  • Marily Oppezzo / Michele Patel — 96 days. Health Coach Bot; IRB feedback owed from their side. A one-line nudge once you’re back.
  • Christine Bywater — 31 days. Active (SMCOE / Tinkery / Lake Forest). Not dormant — just past threshold; a normal check-in when back.
  • Preetha Krishnan Menon — 32 days. Confirm context before reaching out.

Likely clean dormant / drop unless surfaced:

  • Wen Profiri — 33 days by the ETL clock, but the MyBook Firebase thread was active Jun 9–15. Treat as resolved.
  • Victor Lee — 129 days by the clock; re-touched in person at the DCI panel Jun 5. Resolved.
  • Rachel Wolf (104d), Ana Saavedra (138d), Vanessa Monterosa (150d), Anna-Lena Neurohr (151d), Bernardo Silveira / Victoria Delaney (129d) — drop unless something concrete surfaces.

Stories/Impact to Capture

Candidates for Airtable or quoted-impact.md

  • ISTE AI Flash Lab session (Wed Jul 1) — national-stage delivery of the Flash Lab format with Josh. Whatever lands (attendee reactions, ISTE-leadership quotes, follow-on interest) is the headline June/July impact story. [SCALE-MOMENT] / [VALUE-VISIBLE]
  • ISTE relationship-building — any movement with Joseph South / Jessica Garner / Nadia on licensing or TTT next steps. [BRIDGE-BUILD]
  • June deliveries still owed in Airtable (SMCOE PD, DCI Flash Lab, DCI thank-yous) — capture in the early-July monthly entry.

Carried to Next Week

(Updated at end of week — the whole “Parked Until ~Jul 6” list above is the re-entry queue.)

Created: 2026-06-28 (Sunday). ISTELive Orlando week, entirely OOO: travel out today, conference Mon–Wed, AI Flash Lab session Wed Jul 1 (the marquee), PTO Thu–Fri (KSC + FL), fly home Fri night. July 3 is the observed Independence Day holiday. Back ~Jul 6 to a parked re-entry queue (GPS goals, monthly Airtable, logic-model quarterly, Latvia MOU). No work is due this week — deliver Wednesday and take the days off.
