Key adaptations for research context:

  • Changed “Build” to “Research Design” phase
  • Researchers balked at “user” terminology
  • Reduced slide count (first version overwhelmed people)
  • No one used AI boosters - too business-focused for researchers

What worked: Three-phase structure, explicit timing, script, paper/pens over laptops
