Who She Is
- MD Program Therapeutics Vertical Theme Academic Lead; coordinates the Inter-Professional Learning Medication Safety micro-curriculum
- Unit Coordinator for PCOL3888 — a semester-long pharmacology interdisciplinary project unit where student teams turn literature into a video communication for an audience of their choice
- Visited Stanford in 2025 while researching an AI+Education fellowship report; met Josh and Reuben then
Why She Matters
First international course-embedded Flash Lab placement: she wants to integrate the Flash Lab / Flashlight framework into PCOL3888 next semester and align a research project to it — tracking how students’ orientation to AI shifts longitudinally (journal prompts, wager/gradient activities, end-of-semester interviews, ethics approval under her umbrella program). This is also the test case for outside researchers running research on SAL offerings (Dan consulted per Kristen’s suggestion).
Timezone Note
Sydney — meetings land late afternoon PT (4:30pm PT ≈ 9:30am next day Sydney). She can flex 30 min either way.
Interactions
| Date | What | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Jun 9, 2026 | Reorientation meeting (with Josh) | Flash Lab + AI/Human Boost game walkthrough; PCOL3888 placement ideas. See meetings/running-notes.md + meetings/spellar/2026-06-09-kellie-charles-and-josh-weiss.md |
| Jun 9, 2026 | Email: “Meet up next week” | Proposed Wed Jun 17 4–5pm to map unit structure + draft research questions |
| Jun 17, 2026 | Follow-up meeting (with Josh) | Unit walkthrough + research-design working session. Landed: Flash Lab in the mid-unit plan→build phase; wager-vs-comfort 2×2 logbook (predictions vs comfort at start/mid/end); paper-vs-digital prototyping test; Cogniti chatbot embedded in Canvas with full logging + de-identification. Hard deadline: course systems finalized by ~Aug 1 — semester starts Aug 2. Delivered across several short sessions (a single class is too short), Flash Lab placed ~week 2 (the plan→build moment). Cogniti = cogniti.ai (a wrapper for AI bots). Wager design: students predict a quantitative AI/human ratio, then track qualitative comfort (“I think it’s this, but I’m more/less comfortable with that”) at start/mid/end. Kristen Pilner Blair to advise on measurement (Josh coordinating). See meetings/spellar/2026-06-17-flash-lab-design-process-ai-integration-in-education.md |
